Not entirely sure where to start..um, in true marketing style let's start with defining the audience.
I would imagine you are in charge of marketing for your business or non profit. I'd guess that some days you feel a bit overwhelmed and a bit behind, like you're missing out some crucial marketing silver bullet that the rest of the world knows about and are way more successful because of it. Hmm I'd also guess that you want to keep up with the current silver bullets and the trends and changes to marketing in your world, but you can't because you've got too much to do! You've got to get Geoff to sign off on the collateral, you've got to get the CEO's PA to get the CEO to sign off on her quote for the media release, you need to do Sophie's 1 to 1 and then you need to predict the state of the world and write a marketing plan for next year to grow the business. You might as well get a broom and stick it up your bum!
On the other hand, some days I expect you're a ninja warrior who is on fire, and should be boss of the world; you've seen the research, tested the genius idea and delivered the very successful project.
And my friends, I'm here for both of those days. Not only am I an experienced marketer, I bloody love the topic, I'm interested in silver bullets and ninja warriors. I read the research and the trends, and I want to share with them you, mostly coz I is a fereak and I do enjoy it (I really do), but also because I want to sell my freelance and consultancy services. On which note, let me tell you a little more about myself.
I've worked in marketing and fundraising for the past 20 years, I have qualifications in both and will one day get more. I've recently finished treatment for ovarian cancer which was awful, mentally and physically, and in true cancer cliché life is too short style, I've decided to go all in on my consultancy work. Although I've been delivering freelance projects for the past 8 years, I've never felt comfortable 'selling myself.' These days though I tell myself that the cringiness of seeing a website with my face ('people sell to people;' debate and discuss) plastered all over it, is a price worth paying for doing the work I love to do.
