TikTok has over 1.1billion active users across the globe. Think about that for a second, 1.1 billion. That is a lot of people downloading the TikTok app, watching TikTok videos and listening to TikTok music. The majority of users are aged between 10-29 and spend an average of 95 minutes on the platform! Where do they get their time?!
So to sum up, it's a marketing platform with lots of reach, people tend to watch content for a long time, and they tend to be younger people (but are getting older, and people tend to be loyal to their first social media platforms.. maybe it's not loyalty, it's probably more habit. So if you have an older target market now, these younger tik tokkers are your future). The platform will automatically create a personalised advertising guide for you (cleve). There are a lot of pros to marketing on Tik Tok, like life, it's not all roses and clouds, here are the cons:
It's really competitive and creative, whatever you do will need to be attention grabbing, and the videos can't be too salesy.
Because I'm kind, here are some ideas for your organisation to use / keep in mind when you're considering or using TikTik:
If you can afford it or they're willing to do it for free, collaborate with influencers.
Find your tribe or in marketing terms segment your audience, find your segment on TikTok and produce content just for them.
Hide easter eggs in your videos and challenge viewers to find them, solve a puzzle or quiz and get a reward.
